The Custom Kicks Process

A quick and easy guide on how to make your own kicks!

MATERIALS:

  • Pencil & eraser

  • Oil sharpies

    • Fine point & extra fine point

    • Buy them here

  • Canvas or leather shoes (adidas, converse, vans....)

STEP ONE: SKETCH 

  • Find inspiration on what you want on your shoes

  • Sketch out various designs with a pencil

    • Tip: sketch really lightly so you don’t have pencil marks all over the shoes!

CUSTOM KICKS: 3 EASY STEPS

STEP TWO: OUTLINE

  • Using an extra fine black oil sharpie, outline your sketches 

    • Tip: If it is a new sharpie, draw on a piece of scrap paper to make sure the ink isn’t too runny. This will make it so the ink will not bleed when you draw on the canvas

STEP THREE: COLOR

  • Color in your designs using the extra fine or fine point oil sharpies. You can buy them here.

    • Tip: For ombre designs, pick three colors that blend well together (ex: purple, pink and blue).  Refer to the main video above for more details on our ombré technique
